WTI vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of WTI crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price dipped whilst WTI crude rose slightly in May 2013, according to Bunker Index price data

The WTI settlement average rose by $0.68 per barrel, or 0.74 percent, to $94.75 per barrel in the month of May. However, during the same period, the BIX global bunker average declined by $4.64 per tonne, or 0.6 percent, to $786.61 per tonne.

Between May 2012 and May 2013, the WTI monthly average rose by just $0.03 per barrel, or 0.03 percent, from $94.72 to $94.75 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average declined by $58.93 per tonne, or 7.49 percent, from $845.54 to $786.61 per tonne.
