LNG inventory data published

Data covers LNG regasification capacity within the EU.

Gas LNG Europe (GLE) has announced the launch of the Aggregated LNG Storage Inventory (ALSI) - a public platform that provides aggregated operational data regarding the operation of EU LNG terminals. ALSI includes daily information at country level covering LNG regasification capacity in operation within the EU.

The online data is published 7 days a week at 6 pm CET and presents the following EU data with a breakdown per country:

* LNG inventory existing at the end of the previous gas day: Aggregated amount of LNG in the LNG tanks, expressed in thousand cubic metres of LNG;

* Daily send-out of the previous gas day: Aggregated gas flow out of the LNG facility, expressed in million cubic metres of natural gas.

ALSI also offers several user-friendly functionalities such as historical files and graphs that provide a quick overview of the past and present operational status of EU LNG terminals.

The information is available at the following address: http://lngdataplatform.gie.eu

GLE members committed on a voluntarily basis to provide daily data of their terminals for the benefit of market participants.

Francisco de la Flor, GLE President, said: "Through the development of this transparency initiative, GLE members proved their commitment to an increasing level of transparency which is a key factor for the well functioning and evolution of the internal gas market." He edded: “As of today we have achieved an important goal: to present LNG data on a common platform and on country level."

GLE says it currently gathers data from 14 European LNG terminal operators from 9 countries, representing around 90 percent of all the existing LNG regasification capacity in Europe.

GLE is a subdivision of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) - the European association of transmission system operators, storage system operators and LNG terminal operators. GIE represents 67 member companies from 25 countries, gathering operators of gas infrastructures across Europe - namely transmission pipelines, storage facilities and LNG terminals.

GLE represents LNG terminal operators, whilst Gas Storage Europe (GSE) represents storage system operators and Gas Transmission Europe (GTE) represents transmission system operators.
