Glander International Bunkering (GIB) has added Quebec-based Canden Marine Fuel Services Ltd to its global network. As of June 1, the company will operate as Glander International Bunkering (Montreal) Ltd.

Canden is an established marketer of bunker fuels which mainly focuses on deliveries in Canada, the US East Coast, Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway and Caribbean.

The Canada office becomes GIB's second in North America and ninth worldwide. In addition to its head office in Dubai, GIB also has subsidiaries in Florida, Geneva, Mumbai, Oslo, Singapore, Tønsberg and Valencia.

The tie-up means that Canden's bunker sales manager, Elza Adamyan, rejoins GIB as sales manager of the new office after having been employed at the firm as a bunker and lubricant trader between 2014 and 2017, and as a senior bunker and lubricant trader up until 2018.

Anthony Loggia will continue to work alongside her as bunker and lubricant trader.

Commenting on the news, Adamyan remarked: "Moving into Glander International Bunkering will position us even stronger to meet demands and provide even higher levels of service for our clients. We are thrilled to integrate with Glander International Bunkering's global teams of experts and long-term vision.

"The move will provide all counterparties with the assurance of dealing with a worldwide brand that is well known and respected throughout the industry. Now customers will have the benefit of a one-stop service for their bunkering and lubricant needs globally. They will be able to tap into the benefits provided through large volume purchases combined with local expertise gathered from nine offices spread around the world."

Carsten Ladekjær, CEO of Glander International Bunkering, said: "Glander International Bunkering has remained a strong business since its inception[,] focusing on helping clients worldwide. With this expansion of our brand, we aim to combine our global leadership with Canden's local expertise. Our move into Canada is exciting and will complement our North American bunkering operations and services effectively."
