MPA issues bunker licence reminder

MPA says it will not hesitate to act if a supplier contravenes any of the terms and conditions of its licences.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has today issued a reminder to bunker suppliers following the cancellation of G-Fuel Pte. Ltd.'s bunker licence on 15 December 2012.

The Singapore-based supply firm is said to have allowed another company to use its bunker delivery notes to supply bunkers to customers - an act which is in breach of Clause 3 of the terms and conditions of the bunkering licence for bunker suppliers.

In a statement, the MPA said: "All licensed bunker suppliers are reminded that, under clause 3 of the terms and conditions of the bunkering licence (bunker supplier), bunker suppliers shall not transfer, assign, sublet, share, part with or otherwise dispose of any of their rights, duties, liabilities, obligations and privileges under the terms and conditions of the licence."

"MPA will not hesitate to suspend or cancel the bunkering licence of any bunker supplier or bunker craft operator that is found to have contravened any of the terms and conditions of its licences," the port authority said.
