NWE average jumps $16.83 per tonne


BIX NWE increases by 3.2 percent as prices rise in North West Europe for the third consecutive day.



The Bunker Index NWE (BIX NWE) - Bunker Index's average bunker price for ports in North West Europe - increased by $16.83, or 3.2 percent, to $544.47 today as prices continued to rise in the region for the third successive day.

The Bunker Index NWE 380 CST (BIX NWE 380 CST) - the average price for 380-centistoke in North West Europe - jumped by $10.61 to $450.46 per tonne and the BIX NWE 180 CST - the average 180-cst price in the region - rose by $9.54 to $467.46 per tonne.

IFO 380 and IFO 180 prices in North West Europe were $9-$13 per tonne higher in Antwerp, Copenhagen, Great Belt, Hamburg, Kaliningrad and Rotterdam.

The most significant price gains were recorded for marine diesel oil (MDO) and marine gas oil (MGO) as the Bunker Index NWE MDO (BIX NWE MDO) rose by $19.29 to $675.00 per tonne and the Bunker Index NWE MGO (BIX NWE MGO) increased by $20.23 to $729.73 per tonne.

The average MGO price in North West Europe has increased by $40.59, or 5.9 percent, to $729.73 per tonne since Thursday 23rd September when average MGO price levels were at $689.14 per tonne.

During the same period the BIX NWE has risen by $25.63, or 4.9 percent, from $518.84 to $544.47 per tonne.
