Singapore-based Magenta Global Pte Ltd. has announced that it is offering a 10 percent discount to Bunker Index users that attend its Bunker Quality Course, due to be held in Cape Town, South Africa, later this month and in Limassol, Cyprus during the month of May.

First launched in January 2008 in Singapore, this course has attracted an international audience of participants from the shipping and maritime industries to bunker traders, refineries and financial institutions.

The course is led by Chris Fisher, one of the foremost experts in bunkering and co-author of Bunkers - An analysis of the practical, technical and legal issues, regarded as an important information resource for the bunker industry. Fisher is currently Director of Bunker Claims International, which he founded.

- Master fuel quality characteristics and their importance.

- Handle charter party clauses and dispute resolution.

- Examine, monitor & interpret fuel on board testing & laboratory test methods.

- Understand new quality issues with low sulphur fuels.

- Understand what viscosity tells us about a fuel.

- Understand crude Oil, refining & blending.

- Master residual characteristics.

- Tackle fuel related problems including aluminum and silicon, vanadium, viscosity, density, high water content, high Carbon and high ash levels.
