Pinnacle Marine (Singapore) Pte Ltd has laid the keel for SGC 005, the fifth vessel in its series of B100-compatible 20-metre utility boats, bringing the entire planned fleet into the construction phase simultaneously.
The keel-laying ceremony was led by the company's Ship Repair Manager, Mr Salim Sapuan, with the event marking the point at which all five vessels in the programme — SGC 001, SGC 002, SGC 003, SGC 004 and SGC 005 — are now under active construction.
Pinnacle Marine noted that the programme builds on operational experience accumulated through the running of its first B100-compatible harbour craft, with lessons from that vessel informing the design and construction of the subsequent newbuilds.
The company said it remains committed to supporting the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) maritime decarbonisation ambitions, while also keeping operational reliability, safety and commercial practicality as core design considerations.
As previously reported, the keel-laying ceremony for the fourth 20-metre utility boat in the programme was held on 31 July.
