Physical bunker supplier Bunker One is looking to employ a new member of staff to join its financial department in Middelfart, Denmark.

As a 'financial business partner', the successful candidate will be responsible for handling the financial resources of the firm's eight different branches worldwide, together with three other team colleagues.

A pivotal part of the job will be to keep track of the status of the financial key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to the physical supply of bunkers to direct customers and other Bunker Holding trading units.

The role will also involve acting as an advisor and liaison to the financial managers across Bunker One's physical operations department.

"If you thirst for a position where you see the direct results of your actions in an international set-up, this is for you. Whether you implement a more efficient best practice, help a department cut losses or identify and streamline a new financial trend, it will have a profound and transparent effect on our bottom line," explained Carlos Torres, global head of physical group operations.

Bunker One also noted that the person chosen for the job will be joining Bunker One "at a very interesting time", with the upcoming global 0.5% cap on fuel sulphur content just around the corner, in 2020.

"In 2020, Bunker One will undergo one of the most radical disruptions in industry history when traditional sulphur[-]rich fuel is replaced by lower[-]sulphur fuels. This transition will create a range of opportunities for you as it opens doors to a whole new range of challenges and opportunities to existing suppliers, changes to prices and traditional bunker procurement practices [-] in essence a major transformation to the market," Bunker One explained.

"This will be the chance of a lifetime for you to really become an architect of our business model and leave your mark on the global set-up of Bunker Holding. Eventually[,] the disruption might even open doors to new possible responsibilities and career opportunities," Torres added.
