Job description

As a Bunker Trader in Panama, you will join a tight-knit team characterized by proactivity, extensive market knowledge and passion for the industry. As the team is relatively small, you will become an integral part of daily social life in the office.

You will start out with back-to-back trading, focusing on sales and purchase of bunker fuel. As you learn the ropes of bunker trading, you will gradually become involved in physical bunker supply operations as well. You will be in contact with supplier and customer networks all over Latin America as you develop original and enterprising solutions.

Areas of focus

- Develop and maintain a solid and stable portfolio of customers and suppliers
- Ensure optimal customer satisfaction by building strong personal relations and providing specialist advice in bunker solutions
- Build and nurture personal relations with our suppliers
- Provide internal support by surveying ports/regions, tracking vessel movements, and coordinating fuel delivery

The ideal candidate - professional skills

- Relevant education
- Experience from the shipping, maritime, or oil industry specially in bunker trading and/or supply is advantageous
- Sales or customer relationship management experience with documented results
- Fluency in written/oral English and willingness to learn Spanish is required

- Strong at building personal relations and communicating at all levels
- Ability to work both in teams and individually
- Entrepreneurial flair, sees new market opportunities and engaging with business partners as a motivational part of the job
- Flair for numbers, analysis and negotiation
