Reinplus Fiwado Bunker is teaming up with GoodFuels Marine to make advanced biofuels available in Rotterdam and inland routes in the Netherlands via Reinplus's supply network.

Reinplus performs deliveries of marine fuel and lubricants to inland vessels at a number of river and sea ports in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. The company has office locations in the Netherlands and Germany.

As a result of the cooperation with GoodFuels Marine, biofuels will now be made available to a larger number of vessels, and the tie-up is also designed to contribute towards creating a sustainable European inland navigation network.

Reinplus's managing director, Ben van Kol, said: "Due to climate targets and stricter emission requirements, the demand for alternative shipping fuels is increasing. We are proud to provide our shipping customers with sustainable biofuels through the collaboration between GoodFuels Marine and our parent company Varo Energy. We will ensure that these fuels are available throughout our entire bunker network."

Dirk Kronemeijer, CEO of GoodFuels Marine, remarked: "We are very pleased that this collaboration will enable us to offer one of the most climate-friendly options for shipping through the largest inland bunker network in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region. We are confident that this will further accelerate the sustainability of shipping."

Bunker Index reported last year that the brand name of inland bunker specialist Reinplus Vanwoerden Bunker had been changed to Reinplus Fiwado Bunker following the acquisition of Total Nederland N.V.'s inland bunkering business, Fiwado B.V., by Varo Energy-owned company Varo Energy Inland Bunkerservice B.V. An agreement for the acquisition to go through was signed by Varo Energy Inland Bunkerservice and Fiwado on September 7, 2016.

Reinplus Vanwoerden Bunker became a subsidiary of Varo Energy following the merger between Argos and Varo Energy in 2015.

Varo Energy's shareholders include private investment company Reggeborgh, investment fund Carlyle International Energy Partners, and international energy and commodity business Vitol.
