Glander International Bunkering trader relocates to Oslo

Victor Spangenberg moves from Dubai to Oslo after 'establishing himself in the German and European market'.

Glander International Bunkering has announced the relocation of bunker and lubricant trader Victor Spangenberg from the company's office in Dubai to Oslo.

As reported by Bunker Index in November, Glander International Bunkering recently launched a new Oslo office - the company's second in Norway. It follows the merger between Glander International Bunkering and Scandinavian Bunkering AS, which took place in September and resulted in Scandinavian Bunkering being rebranded as Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS.

Originally from Germany, Spangenberg has been with Glander International Bunkering for a year now. During this time, he is said to have been "establishing himself in the German and European market from the Dubai office".

"Victor will continue to serve his existing clients from Oslo and will play a key role in setting up the new operation. His suitability for the role was proven by his diverse educational background and international experience in Asia and Europe, having lived in Germany, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai and Spain. Victor speaks English and German fluently with a basic understanding of Spanish, making him a perfect addition to the team," Spangenberg's employer said.

"This move is seamlessly in line with the group's expansion objectives, and promotes its ability to transfer knowledge, skills and experience worldwide. The transition is also a primary example of the group's mobility programme, which allows employees to gain international experience and bring a holistic approach to practices as a result," Glander International Bunkering added.

Commenting on the relocation of Spangenberg, Christoffer Berg Lassen, CEO and managing director of Glander International Bunkering, said: "In the past year, Victor has proven himself to be a strong team player and a valuable asset to the group. As such, we are pleased to have such a flexible structure in place that allows a smooth transition of talent across the globe."

Andreas Maierhofer, general manager of the Oslo office, remarked: "I am excited to have Victor on board and look forward to his help in strengthening operations here in Oslo."
