Brent vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of Brent crude vs the BIX global bunker price in October.



The global bunker average rose at a less significant rate than Brent crude during the month of October, according to Bunker Index (BIX) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) price data.

The Brent settlement average increased by $4.15 per barrel, or 8.78 percent, to $51.39 per barrel in October. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was up $25.68 per tonne, or 6.22 percent, to $438.79 per tonne.

In an analysis of the last 12 months, since October 2015, the Brent monthly average has risen $2.05 per barrel, or 4.2 percent, from $49.34 to $51.39 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has increased by a less significant $3.92 per tonne, or 0.9 percent, from $434.87 to $438.79 per tonne.
