The BIX monthly average rose at a higher percentage rate than WTI crude in September, according to Bunker Index (BIX) and New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) price data.

The WTI settlement average was up $0.42 per barrel, or 0.93 percent, to $45.22 per barrel in September. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was up $5.13 per tonne, or 1.3 percent, to $413.11 per tonne.

Over the last 12 months - between September 2015 and September 2016 - the WTI monthly average has fallen $0.21 per barrel, or 0.46 percent, from $45.43 to $45.22 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has declined by a more significant $24.79 per tonne, or 5.7 percent, from $437.90 to $413.11 per tonne
