Bunker Index (BIX) price summary: week 32


Lowest end-of-week figure of the year as global bunker prices fall by 3.4% between July 31 and August 7.



The Bunker Index (BIX) - the daily average worldwide bunker price quoted in US$ per metric tonne - fell to its lowest end-of-week level of the year so far on August 7, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global price dropped by $16.19, or 3.4 percent, to $459.58 per tonne on August 7 compared to $475.77 per tonne on July 31.

It is the eighth end-of-week decline in a row and the eleventh in the last twelve weeks.

In percentage terms, the 3.4 percent fall is the most significant in 29 weeks - since the third week of 2015.
