Dan-Bunkering appoints new MD in Houston

New managing director replaces Hans Lind Dollerup.

Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. has announced that as of July 1, Mikkel Søholm Vestergaard [pictured] has been appointed managing director at the company's office in Houston.

Vestergaard began his career at Dan-Bunkering in 2003, where he was employed as a bunker trader at its head office in Middelfart until 2006. After three years of trading, he then decided to pursue a career in the Danish military, both in Denmark as well as abroad, where - amongst other things - he was involved in management training and worked in the area of staff development.

In 2013, Vestergaard recommenced his career in the bunker business and rejoined Dan-Bunkering. In August 2014, he was appointed Group Manager - Recruitment & Training, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining a global training and education programme for all Dan-Bunkering's traders, and for the company's recruitment.

Starting from today (July 1), Vestergaard will be heading the company's Houston office, which opened in 2012. He replaces Hans Lind Dollerup, who is said to have "taken up new challenges within the group".

Commenting on the news, Henrik Zederkof, CEO, said: "We are very pleased that Mikkel will now be at the helm in our office in Houston, as Mikkel is able to contribute with both experience within bunkers as well as excellent management skills. Hans, who has been with Dan-Bunkering since 2002, has been heading the Houston office from the very beginning, and he has done a tremendous effort bringing the office to where it is today. During the past year, we have experienced positive growth both business and staff wise in the Americas, meaning that Mikkel is taking over a healthy and strong team while Hans can concentrate on other tasks on group level."
