Bunker Index (BIX) price summary: week 13


End-of-week global bunker prices rise for the first time since February 27.



The Bunker Index (BIX) - the daily average global bunker price quoted in US$ per metric tonne - rose by $9.87 per tonne, or 2.0 percent, during the 7-day period between March 20 and March 27, according to Bunker Index price data.

The end-of-week global price was $509.13 per tonne on March 27 compared to $499.26 per tonne on March 20. It is the first weekly increase in the worldwide bunker average since February 27 following three successive end-of-week declines. It is also the most significant 7-day increase since February 20.
