The 380 centistoke (cSt) average at Europe's leading bunker port fell to its lowest level since January 2011 during the month of September, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Rotterdam 380 cSt average declined by $18, or 3.2 percent, to $546 per tonne last month, down from $564 per tonne in August.

The $18 price decrease is the most significant of the year so far and the biggest since April 2013 - when Rotterdam's 380 cSt average fell by $19 to $584 per tonne.

In comparison with the corresponding month in 2013, the September 2014 average is $47 lower. It is $101 below the $647 per tonne price recorded in September 2012.
