Bunker price volatility rose to its highest level since April during the month of August, according to Bunker Index price data.

In a comparison of low-high differentials for the daily BIX global average, August proved to be the fourth most volatile month since September 2012 with a low-high differential of $23.09 per tonne, up from 14.21 in July.

The lowest daily global bunker price last month was $785.94 per tonne recorded on August 9, whilst the highest price was $809.03 per tonne on August 29.
