BIX global bunker average down $24 in November


Global monthly average falls to its third-lowest level of the year so far.



The average monthly Bunker Index (BIX) price fell by $23.85 per tonne, or 2.9 percent, in November compared to the previous month, according to Bunker Index price data.

The BIX global monthly average decreased to $810.09 per tonne this month, down from $833.94 per tonne in October. It is the second successive monthly decline and the lowest price since July. It is also the third-lowest average of the year so far.

In a comparison with previous years, November 2012 was $24.73 per tonne lower than the $834.82 average price recorded in November 2011 and $193.88 per tonne higher than the $616.21 per tonne figure seen in November 2010.
