Med average down $9.57 per tonne


BIX MED falls for the first time this week as bunker prices plummet in the Mediterranean.



The Bunker Index Med (BIX MED) - Bunker Index's average bunker price for ports in the Mediterranean - plummeted $9.57 per tonne, or 1.08 percent, to $873.04 per tonne today as bunker prices fell across the region.

The Bunker Index Med 380 CST (BIX MED 380 CST) - the average price for 380-centistoke in the region - decreased by $11.82 to $729.81 per tonne and the BIX MED 180 CST - the average 180-cst price in the Mediterranean - was down by $10.17 to $762.08 per tonne.

IFO 380 and IFO 180 prices in the region were $8-$13 per tonne lower in Algeciras, Augusta, Fos, Genoa, Gibraltar, Istanbul, Off Malta, Piraeus and Venice.

The Bunker Index Med MGO (BIX MED MGO) - the average price for marine gas oil (high and low sulphur) in the region - declined by $9.05 to $1075.10 per tonne today.

Marine gas oil (MGO) prices were $10-$14 per tonne lower in Algeciras, Augusta, Fos, Genoa, Gibraltar, Istanbul, La Spezia, Off Malta, Piraeus and Venice.
