Vilma Oil launches barge service in Ceuta


Spanish supplier expands its presence in Ceuta with the addition of a new barge delivery service.



Vilma Oil has announced that it has launched a modern double-hull 3,700m3 bunker vessel to provide marine fuels supplies at the designated anchorage area at the Port of Ceuta, to complement its existing ex-pipe service.

Named the Sea Dweller, the time-chartered vessel will be used to complement and enhance Vilma's current bunker delivery service to customers after having developed its ex-pipe supply operations from Ceuta's Levante wharf over the last two years.

Vilma Oil, established in 1996 with its head office in Madrid, is a recognized international oil trading company and independent physical supplier of marine fuels at the port of Ceuta.

Commenting on the new barge service, Vilma Oil said “We have worked very closely with the Port Authorities, the Terminal owners and our clients to provide a ‘secure quality service’ at Ceuta. We are proud to further extend our service to other shipping segments calling at the port´s anchorage area, as part of our commitment to continuous growth & service improvement at this strategic location in the Strait of Gibraltar.”

The company says its bunker supply operations combine the exclusive use of an 83,500 cubic metre (m3) oil storage terminal, the Levante jetty and bunker vessel logistic facilities, together with its long-standing oil trading & operational skills.

Vilma Oil is able to supply RMG380 & RME180 high and low sulphur grades, plus DMA 0.1% sulphur, all meeting ISO 8217:2005 specifications.
