Petrobras announces prompt delivery prices

New price list for prompt delivery comes into effect from today.

Bunker supplier and energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) S.A. has announced that all nominations made for deliveries at Brazilian ports in a period shorter than 72 hours from ETA (GTC minimum) will be charged at different prices from today.

Up until now, the Brazilian firm has only provided separate prices for payment in advance, which has resulted in IFO 380 and IFO 180 being approximately $0.70 and $0.78 per tonne cheaper respectively for up-front payments. Meanwhile, MGO prices have been about $1.30- $1.45 less expensive for bunker buyers if they pay in advance.

Petrobras said it will now provide indication prices for prompt delivery to customers on a daily basis, but stressed that as they were indication prices only, they would need still to be confirmed with one of the company's bunker traders before making it a firm nomination.

Prices for prompt delivery were $10 per metric tonne higher than standard prices for all bunker grades today.
