Rotterdam 380 cSt up for sixth straight month


Europe's biggest bunker port records highest 380 cSt average since August 2015.



The 380 centistoke (cSt) average at Europe's leading bunker port rose to its highest level in 11 months in July, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Rotterdam 380 cSt average increased by $2, or 0.9 percent, to $231 per tonne, up from $229 per tonne in June. It is the sixth consecutive monthly price rise..

During the month of July, Rotterdam's best-selling fuel grade recorded a $36 low-to-high price differential with a range of $212 to $248 per tonne. The low of $212 was recorded on July 28, whilst the month's high was seen on July 1 and 2.

In comparison with the corresponding month in 2015, the July 2016 average is $61 lower. It is $344 below the $575-per-tonne price seen in March 2014.

The month ended with an assessment price of $215.00 per tonne, down $34.00, or 13.7 percent, on the $249.00 per tonne recorded on the last trading day of June.
