BIX 380 price summary: week 52


A summary of weekly global 380 centistoke (cSt) prices.



The Bunker Index 380 CST (BIX 380) price - the worldwide daily 380 centistoke (cSt) average quoted in US$ per metric tonne - fell for the seventh consecutive week on Thursday, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global 380 cSt bunker price was down $5.93, or 2.7 percent, to $214.08 per tonne on December 24 compared with $220.01 per tonne on December 18.

The $214.08-per-tonne figure is the lowest end-of-week price of the year so far. It is also the lowest daily price of 2015, beating the $214.41 price recorded the previous day, on Wednesday, December 23.

The $5.93 7-day decline is the least significant in 4 weeks - since the $1.35 decrease seen in week 48.

During a sustained period of price drops, the global 380 cSt price has fallen every day since November 25 - for 21 consecutive trading days. Since the last daily price increase on November 25, 380 cSt has plummeted $49.37, or 18.7 percent, from $263.45 to $214.08.
