Bunker Index (BIX) price summary: week 52


A summary of global bunker prices in week 52.



The end-of-week Bunker Index (BIX) - the daily average worldwide bunker price quoted in US$ per metric tonne - rose for the first time in seven weeks on December 24, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global price was up $0.50, or 0.1 percent, to $364.21 per tonne on December 24 compared with $363.71 per tonne on December 18.

The $364.21 figure is the second-lowest end-of-week price of the year so far, whilst the $0.50 increase is the least significant week-on-week rise of 2015.
