WTI vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of WTI crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average monthly WTI crude price decreased at a marginally higher rate than the global bunker average during the month of March, according to Bunker Index (BIX) price data.

The WTI settlement average fell by $0.18 per barrel, or 0.18 percent, to $100.50 per barrel in March. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was down by $0.82 per tonne, or 0.10 percent, to $792.81 per tonne.

Since March 2013, the WTI monthly average has risen by $7.52 per barrel, or 8.1 percent, from $92.98 to $100.50 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average is down by $24.15 per tonne, or 2.96 percent, from $816.96 to $792.81 per tonne.
