Brent vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of Brent crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price fell at a lower rate than Brent crude during the month of March, according to Bunker Index (BIX) price data.

The Brent settlement average decreased by $1.09 per barrel, or 1.00 percent, to $107.75 per barrel in the month of March. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was down $0.82 per tonne, or 0.1 percent, to $792.81 per tonne.

Since March 2013, the Brent monthly average has fallen by $1.79 per barrel, or 1.63 percent, from $109.54 to $107.75 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has decreased by $24.15 per tonne, or 2.96 percent, from $816.96 to $792.81 per tonne.
