Gazprom in Kaliningrad LNG terminal agreement


Oil and gas giant signs LNG project agreement with the regional government of Kaliningrad.

Gazprom's CEO, Alexey Miller [pictured, right], and Nikolai Tsukanov [pictured, left], Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, have signed an Agreement of Understanding and Cooperation in relation to a project aimed at building an LNG regasification terminal on the Baltic coast of the Kaliningrad Region.

According to Gazprom, as part of the agreement, the regional government of Kaliningrad will provide 'whatever assistance possible' to Gazprom in obtaining the approvals required for the construction project as well as in land allocation issues.

An investment rationale, due to be completed in 2014, is currently being carried out for the Kaliningrad LNG project.
