GB Oils supplies MoD vessels


UK company forms partnership with Scandinavian Bunkering to supply MoD vessels.

Warrington-based GB Oils has been collaborating with Norwegian firm Scandinavian Bunkering AS on the supply of fuel to Military of Defence (MoD) vessels.

Scandinavian Bunkering has a bunker supply contract for MoD vessels and GB Oils has been supplying Gas Oil (class A2) to support vessels for HMS Ocean - an amphibious assault ship operated by the Royal Navy - and to MoD Police launches Excalibur and Endeavour.

Commenting on the supply agreement, Gary Byers, National Sales Manager at GB Oils, said: "We are proud to be able to bunker the Military of Defence vessels with a reliable supply of fuel when they need it.

"By collaborating with Scandinavian Bunkering, we have created a strong team and we look forward to building a strong future together," Byers added.

In August, GB Oils announced that it had been awarded a five year national contract with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), a charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of Great Britain, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

The deal means that, over the next five years, GB Oils will supply the RNLI with both marine gas oil (MGO) and ultra low sulphur gas oil, to 61 of its sites located across the UK.
