Fujairah: 380-cst average higher than in July 2008


January 380-cst average surpasses the level recorded in July 2008, when crude reached record highs.



The average price of 380-centistoke (cst) fuel oil in Fujairah rose by $45 per tonne, or 6.6 percent, during the month of January, according to Bunker Index price data.

The 380-cst average at the Middle East's leading bunker port increased to $722 per tonne last month, up from $677 per tonne in December.

Last month's price is higher than all the monthly averages recorded in 2011 and even surpasses the $719 per tonne price recorded in July 2008 - a period when crude prices reached record highs, with WTI peaking at $147.27 per barrel on July 11th 2008.
