The data shows that between January and December 2011 the monthly Brent average rose by $10.83 per barrel, or 11.18 percent, from $96.89 to $107.72.

During the same period, the BIX global bunker average surged $151.44 per tonne, or 22.7 percent, showing that the percentage rate increase was just over double that of Brent crude.
