Bunker surcharge on shipments to Canada


Surcharge to be levied on shipments from Asia to Canada in January.

Member lines of the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (CTSA) will be raising the bunker surcharge on shipments from Asia to Canada next month.

The new surcharge to be levied on cargoes to Canadian West Coast ports will be USD 294 per twenty foot equivalent unit (TEU), USD 368 per forty foot equivalent unit (FEU), USD 414 per 40 foot high cube and USD 466 per 45 footer.

The East Coast surcharge will be USD 582 per TEU, USD 727 per FEU, USD 818 per 40 foot high cube and USD 920 per 45 footer.

The new bunker fees will become effective on Sunday 1st January 2011.

CTSA member lines are APL, Cosco, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, K Line, NYK Line, OOCL, Yang Ming Transport Corporation and ZIM Integrated Shipping Services.
