OW Bunker strengthens worldwide trading division

New manager and key account manager appointed to drive further development.

O.W. Bunker, one of the world’s leading suppliers and traders of marine fuel oil, has announced the appointment of a new Manager and Key Account Manager for its Worldwiide Trading division in Aalborg, OW Bunker & Trading A/S.

Kristian Nielsen has moved from O.W. Bunker China Ltd. to take on the new managerial position, and Michael Brunø-Sørensen has been appointed to the Key Account Manager role. O.W. Bunker said both of these appointments have been made on the back of exponential growth within O.W. Bunker & Trading A/S throughout 2009.

"As global trade has reduced throughout the economic crisis, ship owners and operators have faced significant pressures in increasing their efficiencies as a means of remaining competitive. Access to quality marine fuel oil products and services, when and where they need them is central to achieving this. As a result, OW Bunker has focused on increasing its supply network in key locations throughout the world, to ensure that customers have access to a one-stop solution for fuel oil that guarantees quality, safety and speed of delivery," OW Bunker said in a statement.

Commenting on the move, Götz Lehsten, Vice President, OW Bunker, said: "The growth of OW Bunker & Trading A/S throughout the last year not only shows the strength of our business model, but also the commitment we have to our customers.

"It is vital that we have the capabilities of providing products wherever and whenever they need them, particularly in the current market, saving both time and money. Strengthening our central office in Aalborg is an important part of ensuring that we continue this growth throughout 2010 as well as striving to improve our levels of customer service and setting new benchmarks for excellence. I am delighted that Kristian and Michael have joined the team and I am confident that they will both play a pivotal role in realizing these objectives.”
