OOCL to raise fuel surcharges in October


Shipping and logistics firm will be increasing its surcharges on three lanes from next month.



Hong Kong-based shipping and logistics company Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced that it will be raising its fuel surcharges on three trade lanes from next month.

Effective October 1st, the carrier will increase the bunker fuel surcharge on shipments from the U.S. West Coast to Hong Kong, Macau and South China as follows:
$367 per TEU
$459 per FEU/high cube

The bunker charge for all dry shipments from the U.S. East Coast to Hong Kong, Macau and South China will be applied as indicated below:
$730 per TEU
$913 per FEU/high cube

Also from October 1st, the inland fuel surcharge for all dry and reefer shipments from Canada to Hong Kong, Macau and South China will be applied as follows:

$55 per container for truck moves
$190 per container for rail and intermodal moves.
