IBIA names Michael Green as new chairman


Intertek's Global Technical Manager takes over from Robin Meech.

Intertek Shipcare's Global Technical Manager, Michael Green, was announced as chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) at IBIA's annual general meeting (AGM) on Monday February 19.

Green takes over from Robin Meech, of Marine and Energy Consulting, who has served as the chairman of IBIA for two years.

Henrik Zederkof, Senior Director at Bunker Holding A/S, has been named vice-chairman, whilst Torm's bunker manager, Martin Laue Brodersen, replaces Eugenia Benavides, Marine Director at Terpel, as treasurer.

Commenting on his appointment during the association's annual dinner - a black-tie event held after the AGM, Green said: "I can't possibly begin to convey to you what an honour and a privilege it is to stand before you this evening as the incoming chairman of IBIA."

Meech remarked: "I have great pleasure in passing the baton of the chairmanship of IBIA to Michael Green, who I know will accelerate the rate of growth of the influence and value for money for our current and new membership."
