Singapore sales hit 34.9m tonnes in 2008


Annual bunker volumes increase by 87.6 percent since 2000.



The total volume of marine fuel sold in the port of Singapore reached a new record of 34.9 million tonnes in 2008, according to data released by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Annual sales at the world's leading bunker port by volume surpassed the previous year's record of 31.5 million tonnes by 10.7 percent in 2008.

Please find below a table of annual bunker sales in Singapore since 2000. The data shows that the port has seen volumes increase by 16.3 million tonnes, or 87.6 percent, in only nine years.

Sales of marine fuel in Singapore have risen every year except 2002, when the figure dipped by 200,000 tonnes.
