Dan-Bunkering trader moves to Stamford

Bunker trader Soren Mikkelsen joins trading team in Connecticut.

Dan-Bunkering (America) Inc. - part of A/S United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC) - has announced that Soren Mikkelsen has been appointed as bunker trader at the company's office in Stamford, Connecticut.

Prior to starting his new job on May 1, Mikkelsen had been working as bunker trader at Dan-Bunkering's head office in Middelfart, Denmark, where he started back in 2012.

Before that, he was employed at USTC-owned shipping and logistics company Shipping.dk, where he had been working since 2010.

"He is in possession of thorough knowledge of both the shipping as well as the bunker business and can contribute with experience from different sides of the industry," Dan-Bunkering said on Wednesday.

Dan-Bunkering's Stamford operation was established in the beginning of 2015 and moved into a distinctive building with Gothic peaks and arches last September.

The team currently consists of three employees: sales manager Mads Buchwald, and bunker traders Kasper Rosenberg and Soren Mikkelsen. Buchwald says the company expects to strengthen the team with additional hires this year.
