LNG port study contract announced in Spain


Study is expected to be completed within a period of 18 months.

Spain's National Ports Authority has announced a tender for the contracting of a study into the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a fuel.

The contract covers "services for conducting a study and definition of technical, safety and environmental requirements, of the procedures and equipment for the supply of liquefied natural gas in ports".

The tender document goes on to explain that the purpose of the contract is to prepare a proposal that meets safety, environmental, technical and licensing requirements applicable to operations, facilities, equipment and infrastucture involved in the supply of LNG as a fuel for ships, port equipment and vehicles.

The tender refers to the content of studies carried out within the framework of Europe's CORE LNGas Hive initiative as a "reference" that "constitutes the context of the contract".

The CORE LNGas Hive project comprises more than 40 partners in Spain and Portugal, and is coordinated by Enagas.

The study is expected to be completed within a period of 18 months.

The estimated net value of the contract is EUR 200,000.
