Global 380 cSt average up 2.6% in week 47


Daily BIX 380 was 3.3% higher at the end of week 47.



The global weekly average for 380 centistoke (cSt) intermediate fuel oil (IFO), the Bunker Index 380 (BIX 380), rose to its highest level in three weeks during the trading week ending 25th November, according to Bunker Index price data.

In week 47, the 380 cSt bunker average increased by $7.81, or 2.56 percent, to $312.90 per tonne, up from $305.10 per tonne seven days earlier. It is the biggest rise in six weeks - since the $8.55-per-tonne increase recorded in the week ending 14th October. The $312.90-per-tonne average is the highest since the week ending 4th November.

The daily BIX 380 average ended the week at $315.94 per tonne - up $10.22, or 3.34 percent, on the $305.72-per-tonne price recorded on 18th November. It is the highest end-of-week price in four weeks, whilst the week-on-week increase is the most significant since 7th October.

The BIX 380 is the daily global average price for all 380 cSt (or IFO 380) assessment prices published on the Bunker Index website.
