Glander International Bunkering recruits two people from internship programme

Ahmet Han and Oleg Adamson are now trading in Dubai and Geneva, respectively.

Glander International Bunkering has announced that it has recruited two people from its internship programme.

Launched towards the end of 2013, the company's internship programme offers youth an opportunity to gain experience and build a long-term career in the shipping industry.

From Glander International Bunkering's latest internship campaign, successful candidates were selected from a number of applicants and inducted into the six-month program, which gave them the opportunity to work as full-time bunker and lubricant traders.

During the six-month period, the interns were then required to meet certain criteria and targets. The two successful candidates that were offered a permanent position at the company as a result of the programme were Ahmet Han and Oleg Adamson.

Ahmet Han, who is from Azerbaijan, is now trading at Glander International Bunkering's Dubai office. Oleg Adamson, originally from Estonia, is now trading at the Geneva office.

"The 'Glander International Bunkering Training Academy' syllabus was created by the most experienced leaders and traders. The program serves as a platform and learning guide and runs in conjunction with 'real time' on the job experience. The program is designed to give promising talent a chance to get their feet onboard the maritime industry," the company explained in a statement.

Commenting on the internship programme, Christoffer Berg Lassen [pictured], Managing Director and CEO, said: "I have always said that the future of our company lies in the hands of our people as finding and maintaining the right personnel is paramount. We are fortunate enough to attract a talented work force and this can be witnessed through our internship program with the addition of our two new bunker and lubricant traders Ahmet Han and Oleg Adamson."
