OW Icebunker supplies in the Faroe Islands

Danish firm to deliver bunker fuel to customers at Fuglefjord from July 7th.

Bunker supplier O.W. Icebunker Ltd. A/S has announced the establishment of a newly-built tank storage facility in the North Atlantic which will enable them to offer bunker supplies to customers from 7th July 2008.

Strategically positioned at 62 14 05 N and 006 47 51 W and located at Fuglefjord in the Faroe Islands, the facility is strategically positioned at the crossroads of the North Atlantic.

In a statement OW Icebunker said "It’s the only point north of 60 deg N, where you will find low sulphur heavy fuel oil and the last stop before entering the North Sea Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA). It is equally convenient for east-west liner trades, north-south traffic along the Norwegian coast and North Atlantic fishing fleet."

New tanks provide storage for products ranging from LS IFO 380 cst to marine gas oil. The company says it also has state-of-the-art blending equipment so that it is able to delivery products precisely to the specification requirements of customers.

Sheltered from the sea, OW Icebunker claims Fuglefjord’s natural harbour also makes it the finest bunkering port within the Faroe Islands. The delivery point is a short distance to the berth and free from rocks, which makes it a safe bunkering location all year round according to the company.

OW Icebunker offers service ex-pipe but can also deliver physical supplies offshore by barge.

The new terminal can currently accept vessels of up to 200 meters length and with a draft of up to 12 meters.

All inquiries should be directed to OW Icebunker´s 24-hour enquiry line on +45 7020 4049 and at owicebunker@owicebunker.com
