Dan-Bunkering announces staff changes in Shanghai


Bunker trader Yong Geng relocates to China and Alex Qin is named chief representative.



Dan-Bunkering (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Shanghai Rep Office has today announced that Alex Qin has taken up the position of chief representative at the company's office in Shanghai.

Qin began working as a bunker trader at Dan-Bunkering's head office in Middelfart, Denmark, in 2006 after taking a master's degree in finance and international business at a Danish university.

He was later promoted to the role of senior bunker trader and team leader, giving him, amongst other things, the responsibility of a team of Chinese traders in Middelfart.

Qin replaces Søren Pedersen, who had been chief representative in Shanghai since 2007 and has relocated to Singapore to take up the position of managing director within the Dan-Bunkering group.

Meanwhile, Yong Geng, who also started his career as a bunker trader in Middelfart, has joined Alex Qin in relocating to Dan-Bunkering's Shanghai office after spending three years at Dan-Bunkering's head office in Denmark.

"The relocation is expected to allow Yong to advance his career within bunker trading even further as he is now situated in the very center of his particular focus area; i.e. the Chinese and South East Asian markets," Dan-Bunkering said.
