New appointment is described as having an 'advantageous knowledge of the maritime industry'.

KPI Bridge Oil, a leading broker and trader of marine fuels, lubricants and risk management products, has appointed Daniel Chin [pictured] as a bunker and lubricant trader at its Seattle office.

Commenting on the news in a statement, the company said: "Having worked as an oil trader in Korea as well as in Singapore and Pakistan, Daniel has advantageous knowledge of the maritime industry and its needs."

Chin remarked: "I have a solid background within the maritime industry and I've spent a lot of time developing new business opportunities with shipbuilders in Asia. As much as I have enjoyed my time aboard I am ready for a change in perspective."

He added: "Relocating and working in Seattle is a new angle and I expect there to be some challenges and learning curves ahead."

Prior to joining KPI Bridge Oil Seattle, Chin was a junior trader and manager at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME).

Jesper D. Rasmussen, Managing Director of KPI Bridge Oil North America commented: "We pride ourselves as the 'go-to' maritime experts in this industry having a high proportion of team members who specifically have maritime backgrounds. These guys better than anyone understand the needs of our valued clients.

"Daniel is already making his mark here and I am keen to see him further develop his business acumen as a trader with us."
