Gulf Petrochem to begin bunkering operations in Fujairah


UAE firm is now an officially licensed bunker supplier at the Middle East's leading bunker port.

UAE-based Gulf Petrochem Group, has announced that it is now an officially licensed bunker supplier at the port of Fujairah.

In a statement, the company confirmed that its licence had been issued by the Port of Fujairah and "comes into effect immediately".

Operating out of Fujairah under the name GP Bunkering FZE, Gulf Petrochem says it will be supplying its customers with the main fuel grades, including RMG 380, RME 180, DMA-specification marine gas oil (MGO) and low-sulphur MGO, subject to product availability.

Commenting on the news, Prerit Goel, director at Gulf Petrochem, said: "With our existing storage facilities in Fujairah and our ability to supply bunker fuel out of strategic locations across the globe, we are able to offer even more choice and flexibility to vessel owners. And with the addition of our bunker supply offering out of Fujairah, the second largest bunker port in the world, we continue to enhance our reputation and seamlessly complement our global expansion plans."

The company added: "The launch of supply operations in Fujairah will compliment Gulf Petrochem Group's growing global footprint in bunker supply which to date includes Khor Fakkan and all other ports of the UAE, Gulf of Kutch, Indian ports of Kandla, Sikka and Vadinar."
