Natural gas: 'The fuel of the moment'

Publication talks to Total executive about natural gas fuel and looks at an EU project concerning LNG as an alternative transportation fuel.

The August edition of USA Oil and Gas Monitor says that the abundance of natural gas across the globe, the call for cleaner alternatives to oil fuel and the issue of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions makes gas "not only the fuel of the future but also the fuel of the moment".

To buttress this assertion, the publication quotes Jérôme Ferrier, Senior Vice President Corporate Security at Total, as saying: "Natural gas has become a clean and economic alternative to drive mobility today. The fuel has become a natural part choice available across the globe for individual and public transportation, heavy duty trucks, as well as maritime and air transportation."

The publication also includes a full interview with Ferrier and an article about the 'LNG Blue Corridor' – a project promoted by the European Union (EU) to demonstrate liquefied natural gas (LNG) as alternative fuel for medium and long distance transportation.

USA Oil and Gas Monitor is a magazine for the oil and gas industry which looks at news affecting the oil, gas and energy industries. Every month the publication features exclusive interviews and reports with top industry players who speak about topical issues affecting the industry.
