Catalyst cuts fuel consumption by nearly 13%

Catalyst is said to reduce the viscosity of the fuel, thus permitting more efficient burning.

US firm Nano Fossil Fuels Technology LLC has launched the Nano Fuels Combustion Catalyst, which is aimed at ship owners and fuel suppliers looking to meet existing and future pollution regulations that set limits on NOx and SOx emissions.

When added to marine fuels the catalyst reduces the viscosity of the fuel, thus permitting more efficient burning. This is said to result in a reduction in smoke emissions of up to 75 percent and a decrease in fuel consumption of almost 13 percent.
