2.3m tonnes of fuel oil booked for Asia


Western fuel oil cargoes are scheduled to arrive in Asia in September.



Approximately 2.3 million tonnes of fuel oil cargoes have already been booked to arrive in Asia from western countries during the month of September, Bloomberg reports.

According to data obtained from shipbrokers including Poten & Partners Inc., Clarkson Plc., ICAP Shipping International Ltd. and information from traders, at least 12 tankers, including six very large crude carriers (VLCCs), are said to be scheduled to arrive in the region from Europe, the United States and the Caribbean.

"Some fixtures are provisional and may be changed or cancelled," the news service said.

According to monthly data published by Bloomberg, 4.212 million tonnes of fuel oil cargoes are scheduled to arrive in Asia from western countries in August with 3.465 million tonnes estimated to have arrived in July.
