Matrix Marine expands Houston ex-pipe service

Low sulphur and high sulphur grades are now available ex-pipe to vessels working cargo at all docks.

Houston bunker supplier Matrix Marine Fuels L.P. has announced a 'significant' expansion in its ex-pipeline delivery capability at Oiltanking Terminal, Houston.

Effective immediately, low sulphur fuel oil delivery capability has been added to docks 6, 7 and 8, which means that both low sulphur and high sulphur fuel oil grades meeting ISO8217:2010(E) RMG-380 are now available ex-pipeline to vessels working cargo at all docks (1-8), including Stolthaven (docks 2 and 3).

Matrix Marine is the exclusive supplier of marine fuels ex-pipe at Oiltanking terminals in Houston and Beaumont. Oiltanking Houston is the busiest liquid bulk terminal in the Houston area, recording 684 vessel arrivals in 2012.

In June 2012, Matrix Marine's ultimate parent company, Mabanaft GmbH & Co. KG acquired the Bomin International Group of companies (Bomin), which includes Bominflot Bunker Oil Corp., in Houston.

Matrix Marine and Bominflot Bunker Oil Corp. are both physical suppliers of marine fuels in the cluster of ports in the Houston area (Freeport, TX to Lake Charles, LA range). Together, the companies command a significant market share, with Matrix specializing in ex-pipe supplies, and Bominflot concentrating on barge deliveries.

Enquiries for marine fuel deliveries at Oiltanking terminals in Houston and Beaumont, also at Odfjell Terminals (Baytank) in Houston, should be directed to Matrix Marine Fuels L.P.
