As previously reported, Singapore posted record bunker sales of 25.35 million tonnes for the first half (H1) of the year. However, it is also worth noting that in terms of rolling six-month volume, January-June was the lowest sales result in seven months - since May-November, when 25.26m tonnes were sold.

So even though Singapore's H1 result was the best in the port's history, it is also the lowest rolling six-month period of the year so far.

Singapore's best six-month bunker sales period was mostly last year

To find Singapore's best sales figure for any six-month period, we would need to go back a few months.

Specifically, between August 2017 and January 2018, Singapore managed to sell 25.93 million tonnes, which still remains a record to this date.

Hence, most of the bunker fuel (21.32m tonnes, or 82.2 percent) for the record six-month period was actually sold last year.
