BMS United promotes trader

George Makrakis promoted to the role of Maritime Lubricants Manager & Senior Bunker Trader.

BMS United Bunkers announced on Monday that George Makrakis has been promoted to the position of Maritime Lubricants Manager & Senior Bunker Trader.

In a statement, BMS said: "George has joined our group 12 years ago and has held the position of Bunker and Lubricant Trader, serving the last two years as Senior Bunker & Lubricant Trader. During this period, he has been consistently improving his sales skills, by constantly bringing new business, while being a true role model for his colleagues."

BMS added: "George's business background gave him an overall understanding of how to improve customer satisfaction. Also, his sales mindset has led to his continued success in BMS United Bunkers."

Launched in 1990, in Piraeus, Greece, BMS United has offices in Piraeus, Buenos Aires, Limassol, Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Vladivostok.

Last year, BMS United Bunkers merged with East Asia's International Bunker Services (IBS).

Prior to this, in 2014, BMS Bunkers and Asian bunker trading specialist United Bunkering and Trading (UBT) merged their respective businesses to form BMS United Bunkers.
